Scaling & Root planning or Deep Cleaning

Scaling and root planning or deep cleaning is a non-surgical procedure to remove colonies of bacteria from the root surfaces.  It is similar to a regular cleaning except CDG dentists utilize special ultrasonic tips and hand scalers designed  to remove bacteria deep below the gum line.

A treatment with Nd:Yag laser after scaling and root planning is recommend to reduce the amount of bacteria, gum bleeding, and periodontal infection.
