Removable Orthodontic appliances

Removable orthodontic appliance is utilized to:

  • Actively guide growth, and development of the jaw. Certain ROA can have spring, elastic, expander, and metal wire to move teeth, gain lost space, and maintain space in mixed dentition period.
  • Retain teeth in a desire location. ROA has many different shape and appearances. Your retainer is an example of one type. Retainers are ROA that function to hold teeth in their new position after orthodontic treatment (Braces) is complete. Vivera retainer (from Invisalign) is another example of ROA.

Procedure:

  • Impressions of your teeth are taken.
  • CDG dentists will evaluate your X-ray, dental casts of your teeth, orthodontic records. A design of removable orthodontic appliance is prescribe to be fabricated in a laboratory.
  • Deliver of your appliance and instructions are given.
  • You may be required to have monthly or biweekly check up as deem necessary by CDG dentists.

Successful removable orthodontic treatment with appliances requires a consistent cooperative effort by the patient. A patient’s failure to clean his or her teeth, or to wear prescribed appliances, can result in failure of teeth to move to their desire positions, and can prolong treatment.
